The First Word
The Regional Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Dhobiwan, completes the first four years of its life. It has performed its multi-faced role successfully, although there is no budget and no staff of its own. We have conducted 268 training courses for doctors and paramedics, and performed 36 field - based surveys and studies during this period.
The Institute has not only fulfilled the quantitative expectations but has established quality standards in in-service training, community-based research and public health education – a fact acknowledged during international and national-level evaluations.
I am grateful to all my colleagues at the Institute and outside who are behind the achievements of the Institute.
